Haunting of Hill House (miniseries, 2018) Gone are the days when the sole purpose of horror movies was to scare the living daylights out of you. Apparently, the 'boo' 😱 and scream factors used to be the determinants of success and failure of films in this genre. Things seem to have changed of late as they become more cerebral and start inculcating elements of psychology and existentialism in them. This miniseries is quite engaging. It deals with how family members deal with something with something quite dark in their lives. It shows us how our coping mechanisms work to handle such a situation. It leaves unseen effects on our psyche and inter as well as intrapersonal relationships. Unresolved childhood issues can sometimes lead to our destructive habits and failures in relationships.
