What has divinity got to to do with it?

We have always blamed divinity for all of the follies of Man. All the fights, the holier-than-thou attitudes, the delusion complex that it gives, the ability to cow fully grown Man to zombies to perform atrocities with legitimate justification and promise of better 'living' condition in the afterlife. They would later walk on with impunity as they know what the did is good in the eyes of the Divine.
Interestingly, I know many who use it for their own benefit. After indulging and overindulging in items of palatal pleasures from mid October (Diwali) all through Christmas and New Year, they thought their liver and gastrointestinal systems needed cold turkey treatment. The liver, particularly had to commence their housekeeping and refurbishment activities. The intoxicants which were consumed in the name of feting clients to tease out the contents of their wallets and securing project had to be purged out. What better excuse than to invoke the name of divinity for personal gains? They decide to observe an extended Lent via solemn abstinence from meat and alcohol all the way from New Year through to Easter, a good 3 months of relieve to the liver!
By then, people might lose interest in his company or would beg for his company to be a party animal all over again. Hey, nobody is going to force you when you bring in the name of God in it! A perfectly legitimate excuse!
