Fast forward to the 21st century. What we have is a group of young millennials who grew up under the shield of helicopter parents. A little squeal and a little screech, their parents, would have had bent over backwards to serve them unconditionally before the next teardrop could fall. Now in early adulthood, with money to spare, not through their sweat, tear, toil and blood though, he demands the continued service from the subservient.
The society has also changed. The margin between the haves and the have nots have widened. The wealth distribution which seems to be following a Caisson curve all this while has since assumed bimodal peaks on either end of the graphs. The poor have to complement their income to make ends meet.

So when they get hungry what do they do? Who do they call to bust their hunger? Grab Food, Meals-on-Wheels, Food Panda and what not. At the tip of their fingers on their smartphones, a hot meal is a click away. The economically deprived would dance to the tune of your growling stomach. Weathering the monsoon rain or the scorching, they would zoom to your doorstep with your order to douse your craving. Nobody is bothered whether the driver is insured or is protected from the hazards of the elements he is exposed to in due course of his occupation. He is just a disposable screw in cogwheel of consumer capitalism. He is just filling the gap before drones can do the same or even better. He will play dance monkey if he needs to, to survive.
