Gone Girl 2014
One of the better movies of late. What starts off as a mysterious disappearance of a loving wife in a dream marriage with her loving helpless husband at his wit's end trying to locate his wife. Slowly, the husband is put in a spot painted as a two-timing cheat who is trapped in an unfulfilling marriage.
Concurrently, flashback story of the couple's courting and subsequently the souring of relationship is told as her entrants into her diary.
The wife also her bad past history - history of obtaining restraining orders against her ex-boyfriends, one of whom eventually became mentally unstable.
Police investigation slowly puts the husband as the accused. A neighbour then comes out vehemently insisting that the wife was pregnant. The husband knows nothing of such as their conjugal habits have been dismal of late.
Just as the husband stands accused of murder, we are shown the psychopath wife who meticulously planned out her own murder and put her husband as the accused of revenge after discovering of his philandering ways.
Just as the wife enjoys her time in sweet revenge, instant karma rears its head. Her hard-earned stash of cash is robbed of her. She has to revert to Plan B.
In a twist of events, this conniving wife returns to her home smelling of roses at the same the husband at ransom and she lived happily with her trapped unhappy husband.
The story seems a bit too far fetched to be true. What the heck, it just a movie! But you don't say that when you watch an Indian movie, you say too many coincidences!
