hutchings school

I studied in Hutchings between 1970 and 1975, after which I went to Penang Free School. My batch mates were Syed Abutahir (Head Prefect), Aqbal Singh (a child prodigy by my standards), Lim Eng Seng (my class competitor), Ahamed Kameel (professor at IIU), Thazlin Ghouse, Eddie Lee Boon Teik ( who introduced me to CCR the band ), Hang Tuah, etc.
I remember my teachers - Cik Aishah ABd Rahman Std 1, Mr Khoo Cheow Hin with story telling skills & girlfriends & Ms Tan Geok Kee Std 2, Mr Lee Seong Teik with his VW -Std 3, Ms Olive de Mello & the pretty Ms Yeoh Std 4, Mr Ever Smiling Cheah Yong Chee Std 5 and Mr Chan Teik Huat Std 6. I also remember Mr Paul Ng....
I wonder where all these people are!

nice figure

August 20th,2008.

Nice figure.. 20.08.2008. Just spent a night in Phuket over the weekend. What so great about Phuket, anyway. Just like the 1980s song "1 Night in Bangkok". There is a Buddhist temple in every corner, but there are transvestites at every corner. And people go ga ga looking at young 15 or 16 gyrating on the podium at every bar, ala pole dancing. Disgracing.

crab...

Thursday, July 24, 2008

July 24. One week after turning 45. Time to reflect on things again…

Bayan Baru auntie, I guess, must have been diagnosed with Ca Ovary Stage3B! Now undergoing chemotherapy. 3 years ago, she was complaining of tummy upset, planned for laparotomy but decided otherwise. A provisional diagnosis of cancer was there. The notion then was, once you put the knive on cancer, it spreads fast, so try alternative therapy. Cleansing, detoxifying traditional treatment so on so forth...
What we saw was an 85kg, 5ft 6in, lady with a big frame who had shrivelled up to 50kg!

Now on chemo...

rrf makes it big

Life at 40s for a professional
So finally, Rifle Range Boy makes it big. The boy who used to study in Form 3 classroom in the afternoon after a budget meal of roti canai and water with ambition on his mind has finally relieved himself from the shackles of poverty and sorrow. The same boy who used to study in the cemetery to escape the uninhibited noise from the drunk bus driver who used to blast his Hindi LPs on his hi-fi after a tiring morning shift that ended at noon.

rifle range to MRCOG

Why rifle range? because that is where i grew up. from a 7year old std 1 kid in Hutchings School to form 6 student in Penang Free school. A formidable achievement, considering the adverse environmental background I was exposed to. All salutations and gratitude go to Mdm Radamani Devi and later Dato Maj(R) MS Murthi for finally helping me to decide on a medical seat in Universiti Sains Malaysia, which finally decided my future life partner and who subsequently helped in her own way me to the nirvana of Rifle Range Boy, i.e. MRCOG!

Hope lies buried in eternity!
